I recently made this 60’s inspired poster for the jazz quintet “Everybody’s Favourite Colour”

Okay so it’s been a little while since I have updated this, but that does not mean I haven’t been doing anything. Quite the contrary. In August we had the Lunar Landigs show at Gallery 1313, put on by my studio collective The White House . I made a set of squirrels chatting on a good ol’ tin can phone. Here is  me, gleefully showing you my art, on opening night. 

I have also been busy recently recording and writing with my band. I designed the new packaging for our upcoming 7″ single, which I will post closer to it’s release. I finished my set of Canadian owls “Hibou” series and they are bound into a neat little book. I am currently working on figuring out, once again, how to use circuits in interesting ways. We shall see what transpires. Ta-ta!

I was sad to learn today that Michal Majewski tragically passed away. Majewski was a fantastic artist and all around nice guy from Oshawa, Ontario, the city that I grew up beside/in. I met Michal a couple years ago at a show in Oshawa and we always chatted  whenever we saw each other. I always admired his artwork and I was so happy to be invited to perform at the opening of one of his shows.  Michal was a great friend to the local arts scene and will be sorely missed. My condolences go out to his family, and my heart is with them at this time.

It’s been a couple months since I have updated this! I have been galaventing around the world (well, just Europe) with my band and haven’t had much to post about here. But now, I finally can announce what I have been up to. I am taking part in a group show at Gallery 1313 this week. I am showing a drawing installation piece that includes squirrels and tin cans. There will be a variety of works by some really great up and coming artists.

This is happening tonight! My art studio collective, the White House, will be showcasing a houseful of installations and artwork. Yay!

Last night I rode my friend’s giant cruiser bicycle home in a blizzard. It was really quite fun and I got home alive! It did take a long time but for some reason it was really calming. You just can’t rush in a snow storm. I was coming from  Film Fort, a monthly event my friend Winston runs that screens rare films as well as local artists’ short films.  Last night had a great variety of local and international talent including some really amazing animations by Chad VanGaalen. I really admire everything he does, music and art wise. 

Please go look at the website or come to next month’s screenings. They’re a load of fun and are totally supportive of local independent artists.

I have also been busy making some posters for a variety of upcoming events… The first being a Geoff Berner Winter Tour poster and the second being the Out of this Spark two year anniversary poster. The second one is going to be a four colour silk screen for sale at the show.
